Product Analyst, HCL HealthcareNoida, India

I find the reason a product isn’t being used, then I go fix it.

I inherited that audience rather than acquiring it, which makes getting them back the whole job.

HCL Healthcare. I own the engagement surface on a consumer health app: the roadmap, the PRDs, and what ships in what order.

By the numbers

What the work actually moved.

Every figure below comes from shipped product work at HCL Healthcare.

Registered users

A consumer health super-app where I own the engagement surface, meaning the roadmap, the PRDs, and what ships in what order.

An eight-week initiative that also cut the app bundle from 25MB to 6MB, a 76% reduction.

Step-sync completion

More people reached their step count once the wait was gone, in a period that had other work in it too.

Enterprise closes

The AI health report cited as a key USP. I built the artifact; I did not own the sale.

Selected work

Three problems, three shapes.

Three problems of three different shapes, from one product surface: a reliability problem, a choice between mechanics, and a commercial one.

Step Syncing

A fifteen-second launch cut to under two seconds, and step-sync completion up 35%.

Problem
The step count people opened the app for sat behind a fifteen-second wait.
What I changed
I reclassified launch time from an engineering backlog item into a product requirement, and held my own roadmap for eight weeks.

Steps Premier League

A competitive step league built from nothing, moving session time from 3.5 to 7.8 minutes, on a north star I would not choose again, and I explain why.

Problem
A step counter competes with the one already on the phone. It needs a reason to be opened that the OS widget doesn’t have.
What I changed
I evaluated three retention strategies and shipped the one with no recurring bill, and named who it costs.

AI Smart Health Report

A generated health report people could actually read, that became a key USP in five enterprise deals.

Problem
People finished a check-up and received clinical values they had no way to interpret.
What I changed
I designed the report as a product with three audiences, the reader, the buyer, and the person who has to sign it off.

How I work

How I make product decisions.

01

Start with the real problem, not the assigned one

My roadmap said engagement. The app took fifteen seconds to open. Features shipped onto that are only ever measured on the people patient enough to wait, so I spent eight weeks on launch time first.

See it in the work
02

Use evidence before instinct

Cohort analysis, not a feature request, is what put the problem on the table. Three strategies were live options; I scored them on what each one costs after launch, and only one had no recurring bill.

See it in the work
03

Make the trade-off explicit

Choosing competition meant accepting that a standings table is a daily notice to whoever is last. That is a real cost, and it belongs in the same sentence as the choice.

See it in the work
04

Measure what shipped, and say what it proves

Session time moved 3.5 → 7.8 minutes, and it is a contestable north star in a health app: a product that works can shorten a session. So the number travels with the argument.

See it in the work

Applied to things nobody handed me: a teardown of Strava’s free tier, and a thesis on why manual logging caps engagement for Indian health apps. Both are analysis, not shipped work, and say so.

Grounded

An evaluation harness that scores LLM-generated health summaries against a rubric you can read.

Why I built it: Because "we think it’s fine" is not a quality bar, and the first question anyone asks about generated health text is one I could not answer from my own record.

About

IIT Kharagpur, then four product internships, then a health app with a million users on it.

More about me

I like problems where the product already exists and something is quietly stopping people from using it: a wait, a wall, a number nobody can read. Finding that thing is most of the job.

Dual degree, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, 2019 – 2024. Product work since 2022 across media, marketplaces, fintech onboarding, insurance claims and now health.
